From Department President Madge Parks:

ON WING FOR OUR HEROES

Sister's I am proud and honored to serve as your 2011-2012 Department President. Thank you for your faith, encouragement, love, support and trust in me.

I would like to thank the floor team, installing conductress and assistant conductress, my installing officer and installing secretary, they did an awesome job.

 

With change in our economy, such as it is, National has implemented change; the change is no Community Service Reports. Derith Kelley has devised a new form and she requests the Auxiliaries to use it and send it in regular. Another change will be the Auxiliary uniform, which will be voted on at the National Convention. Suggested change is Black Skirt/Pants and Jacket, we no longer have a uniform company. Standing Rule was changed at the State Convention to raise the Hospital Pledge to $3.00 per member and do away with purchasing Hospital Pins. It should be easier to pay $1.00 more than $2.50-$3.00 for pins. With the number of Veterans in Need coming back from the War we are here to help and aid OUR HOSPITALIZED VETERANS.

 

My goal this year is to work together, in our Auxiliaries, Posts, Districts and Department. To better serve our Veterans and Active Duty Soldiers and their families. Leave no Veteran behind that is in need. Bring more awareness to our communities of who we really are and what we stand for. Have Poppy Drives, Stand Downs and Activities to invite the Community.

 

We will continue with the Department Website: www.auxdeptwa.org. Use this website to keep better informed, it is a good informational tool. This year our Fantastic Department Officers will be on call in their geological area for District and Auxiliaries that may need help, support. Ask them questions or any concerns you may have, call or e-mail. This does not mean that they won't be making visits to your Districts and Auxiliary meetings. This will make it easier to respond to your requests for assistance in a timely matter. We are dedicated in working with you as a team.
